One of the most perplexing clinical moments for patients and therapists is a declaration of an absence of sexual attraction by one or both partners. Unlike sexual desire which can wax and wane over time, sexual attraction is often experienced as fixed and unchangeable.
What is a therapist to do?
Utilizing an integration of psychodynamic, systems, and cognitive behavioral approaches, this presentation will
explore how to identify and transform the individual, interpersonal, and cultural narratives that contribute to this emotionally challenging presenting problem.

PRESENTER BIO:
Suzanne Iasenza , Ph.D.Suzanne Iasenza, PhD is on the faculties of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP), the Ackerman Institute for the Family, and the Adelphi University Derner Institute’s Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. She also teaches at the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the Family Institute of Westchester. She maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and sex therapy. Her latest book, Transforming Sexual Narratives: A Relational Approach to Sex Therapy was published by Routledge.
