Pat Colucci-Coritt, PhD., LCSW, LMFT assumed the Directorship at Family Institute of Westchester (FIW) in 2009. From 1997-2009 Pat held the position of Director of Training at FIW. In addition to her work at FIW, Pat maintains a private practice in White Plains, NY and Stamford, CT.

Ruth Rosen Cohen, LCSW is the Director of Training at Family Institute of Westchester. She has been an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University School of Social Work and Smith College School of Social Work and a lecturer at New York University’s School of Social Work. She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and an AAMFT approved supervisor. Currently, her private practice includes individuals, couples and parents and their adult children, as they navigate life transitions. It is primarily online.

Elliott J. Rosen, Ed.D., L.M.F.T. served as Director of the Family Institute from 1997 to 2009 after having succeeded Betty Carter as the Institute’s director. A clinical member and approved supervisor of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Family Therapy Academy, he is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR).

Karen Fleming-Sherman, APRN, LMFT, conducts her private practice in the Armonk-Bedford area and in White Plains. She has been an adjunct professor at Columbia University in their Nurse Practitioner Program for the past six years.

Betty Carter is the founder and director emerita (1977-1997) of FIW, and an internationally acclaimed author and teacher of family therapy. Her accomplishments include five major books and innumerable chapters and articles which have immeasurably enriched the field.

Natalie Schwartzberg, LCSW has been a member of the FIW faculty for 32years. She has given workshops and lectures as well as teaching at the NYU school of social work. Natalie maintains a private practice in individual and marital therapy in the Flat Iron section of Manhattan.

Justine Carino, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor in private practice. She works with teens, young adults and families struggling with issues related to anxiety, depression, grief and family conflict. Justine has over 10 years of experience and uses both cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and Bowenian family systems techniques when working with her clients. She is a graduate of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University and has post graduate training from the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and The Family Institute of Westchester. Pamela Young LCSW, LMFT, BCD is an approved AAMFT supervisor and maintains a private clinical and supervisory practice in Scarsdale, NY. She is also a member of the American Family Therapy Academy.

Suzanne Iasenza, PhD is on the faculties of the Adelphi University Derner Institute’s Postgraduate Program in Psychoanalysis, and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP), where she also serves as Co-Director of the Sex Therapy Training Program (STP). She also teaches at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy and the Family Institute of Westchester. She maintains a private practice in psychotherapy and sex therapy in New York. Her latest book, Transforming Sexual Narratives: A Relational Approach to Sex Therapy was published by Routledge.

Dr. Aftergood is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Einstein College of Medicine. He is in full time private practice in Westchester County specializing in Integrative Psychiatry.

Anna Piliero joined the Family Institute of Westchester in October of 2010 and holds the position of Office Manager. Anna oversees the day-to-day functions of FIW and works closely with both faculty and trainees.

Matt joined the family institute in 2017 as the IT manager. He manages and oversees the institute’s PCs, network, and workshops.

Matt is lifetime Westchester resident and the owner and chief IT consultant of Tekchester LLC, which specializes in personalized and bespoke IT services for homes and small businesses.
